Hospitality Development Manager vacancy
Submit your application via this form.
We are a small brewery with ambition to develop a network of hospitality venues over the next decade.
We hope to add to our two existing retail sites (both taprooms with small merchandise and off-sales shops) with a further hospitality site or two later this year, and with two or more sites per year thereafter. Though our focus so far has been on high-quality taproom experiences, as a company operated by a good number of musicians and makers, plant-based food lovers and fine wine and coffee connoisseurs, our interests already expand beyond the limits of traditional beer spaces.
We are looking for a Hospitality Development Manager to help find and secure new sites, project manage their fit-out (working closely with the rest of our senior management), and offer initial support to new site team members as we build a framework for multi-site management.
If you have a passion for the best possible customer experiences, a meticulous approach and eye for detail in everything you do, and have experience of programme/project management, interior design, and a variety of multi-use sites, we will welcome your application. Experience in commercial property management, passing building codes, gaining planning permissions and premises licenses will be advantageous.
This is a full time position based in Manchester, at our brewery site, and will offer a salary of between £35,000-45,000 depending on track record and previous experience, though this is open to negotiation. As a member of our management or senior management team, we will endeavour to contain your ambition and drive within a 40-hour week.
Our timeline for filling this job role is as follows:
Advertising and accepting applications - closes Sunday February 28th at 9pm
Reviewing and shortlisting - Monday and Tuesday March 8th and 9th
Scheduling Interviews - Wednesday March 10th
Interviewing - Thursday and Friday March 11th and 12th
Offering the role to the successful candidate - Monday March 15th
The successful candidate will be able to start with us on site here in Manchester within the month of April 2021.
Previous experience within the beer industry is not required.
Please take time to review our equality and equity policy below.
Equality and Equity Policy
Our Equality and Equity Policy seeks to address and correct systemic, societal, and global prejudice, bias, and friction through hiring, training, and on the job support with intentions and positive action to extend extra help and opportunities to those society has disadvantaged.
Though equal opportunity is a noble aim, we take into account that the world we live in continues to place obstacles, and emotional and physical violence in the way of women, people of colour, the LGBTQ+ community, and intersectional, non-conformist people everywhere.
We will seek, from our analysis of job applications, to on the job development, to level the playing field, and provide you with the unique training, support, understanding, and skills necessary for you to succeed.
We recognise that the UK brewing industry currently lacks the equality and equity practices we long to see become the norm. Though our job listings often express our desire to hire a candidate with existing industry or role based experiences, the current demographic of the UK brewing industry does not yet reflect that of wider society.
If you are applying without direct industry experience but believe you have comparable skills we will positively evaluate your existing experiences as highly transferable skills.
At Cloudwater Brew Co, we believe that your passion and potential are more important than your past achievements. That your love for people and progress is more important than your love of beer.
On the job performance reviews will take into account your unique life experiences, and the unique pressures you face, and seek to foster personal growth within your development in your role. In fitting with our anti-assimilation principles, our culture will be shaped by your needs.
Our Equality and Equity Policy recognises that our good intentions are only the first step, and must be met with excellent outcomes.
