Join award-winning beer writer Matthew Curtis on a journey through the evolution of the modern IPA.
There has been a whole lot written and said about this storied style, so we'll attempt to explore its development, debunk some myths and enjoy some delicious beers along the way.
Matt has chosen a series of beers for us to taste through on the evening, each representing a particular stage in the evolution of modern IPA.
From classic West Coast to contemporary Hazy, with a few stop-offs along the way, we'll also look at how the journey in the UK has both mirrored and diverged from that in the US.
It's a chance to spend an evening learning more about a style that everyone *thinks* they know inside out already, and you could ask for few better hosts than Matt, whose passion, enthusiasm and knowledge shines through his work.
A freelance writer, broadcaster and photographer with many years' experience, he is also the founder and editor-in-chief of beer magazine and podcast Pellicle, and the author of two books, Modern British Beer and An Opinionated Guide to London Pubs.
