Rambling With Reason beer launch at Unit 9

  • Cloudwater Brew Co Ltd 7-9 Piccadilly Trading Estate MANCHESTER (map)

We’ve teamed up with our friends from Patagonia Manchester and Outsiders Store Manchester to create a beer with special significance.

Rambling With Reason has been brewed to commemorate the 90th anniversary of the Kinder Mass Trespass, a seminal moment in both the fight for access to our countryside and in our city’s rich history of social protest.

On 24th April 1932, around 500 people participated in a mass trespass onto Kinder Scout in the Peak District to protest about restrictions on walking in the countryside. This moment of direct action is credited with helping to bring about the creation of National Parks and securing walkers’ rights over open country and common land.

Despite this, we still only have access to 8% of land in England.

The collaborative beer is intended to raise money and awareness for the Right to Roam campaign and will be accompanied by a zine created to mark the anniversary, as well as a walk and celebration at Kinder Scout on Sunday April 24th.

We’re hosting a launch party at Unit 9 that’s free and open to all.

Come along to enjoy this delicious new Pale Ale, designed to be the ideal modern thirst-quencher at the end of a long walk, and learn more about the Mass Trespass from Greenpeace activist Martin Porter, whose granddad was involved in the original walk.
